Can I print the Fit To Fly Certificate?
Our PCR self-swab test includes a validated laboratory certificate which can be used for work or travel purposes. This will be available to download and print once your results are complete.
How do I take the test once I receive the kit?
Activate your test: Once your test arrives, register your unique reference number on our website.
Collect: Collect your sample by swabbing the back of your throat then nose.
Send: Return your sample to the lab in the return postage mailing bag. You will need to arrange your own postage.
How soon will I receive my results?
Results are available online within 24 hours from when your sample is received by the lab. Please allow a total of 4-5 working days from placing your order to receiving your results. We are not liable for any delays due to the increased demand.
Is your laboratory safe and approved?
Our tests are performed by an ISO 17025 UKAS accredited lab supporting the NHS and healthcare industry.
When should I take the test?
Samples should be sent to the lab the same day as you collect them. The test can only detect if you were infected with SARS-CoV-2 at the time you’ve collected your sample. The test does not check if you have been infected with the virus previously. If you are travelling please consider the time window required by your airline and destination and the day of the week your flight is departing. Time windows are normally given by your airline or the country you are flying to. For example, a 96 hour time window means that your swab needs to be taken within 96 hours of your flight.
How do I send my sample?
You will be sent a PCR sampling kit which includes everything you need to take your sample and send to our testing laboratory with a UN3373 mailing bag. Kits will arrive by post by Royal Mail Tracked 24. You are responsible for returning the sample back to our testing centre.
Please ensure you use a 24 hour service such as Royal Mail tracked or a suitable next day courier. This will ensure you can track the status of your shipment. Check My Body Health cannot be held responsible for delayed results if samples are not received.
Please note that all PCR tests can only be returned using Royal Mail priority postboxes. Priority postboxes are listed on the Royal Mail website at https://www.royalmail.com/services-near-you
What results could your report tell me?
Your test results will be described as either negative, positive or unclear.
What is a PCR test?
A polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, looks for genetic (RNA) fragments of the virus itself. This type of testing looks for an active infection and is performed by ‘swabbing’ or collecting cells from the nose and throat. A positive PCR test means that you currently have the virus and are potentially infectious to others.
