This is one whopping plant-based smoothie, loaded with spinach, nuts and seeds. This easy-to-make Pear Power Protein Smoothie makes a deliciously healthy breakfast or satisfying pre- or post- workout snack to power you through your day!

Not only is this smoothie a treat for the taste buds, but it also has some impressive health credentials too, boasting 20 grams of protein. Depending on your protein goals, this may provide a significant amount of your daily requirement.

And it’s not just about the protein; this dynamic drink provides a range of other benefits, many of which are derived from the brilliant brazil nut.

Besides giving the smoothie a creamy texture, brazil nuts are also a nutritional powerhouse, abundant in healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. In particular, they boast high levels of selenium, which is associated with:

  • Boosting your mood
  • Supporting thyroid health
  • Protecting against heart disease

The good news is you only need to eat about between one and three brazil nuts (depending on their quality) a day to reach your recommended daily intake of selenium!

And for anyone thinking they need dairy milk or whey protein to keep on top of their calcium intake, you needn’t worry: this dairy-free smoothie contains 102% of the daily calcium requirement for a woman or man aged 19-51 (older individuals require 18% more).

All in all, this drink is a real winner and is an easy way to pack in some key nutrients and to hit your protein goals.
